On 17 September, we received a call from Cindi Atwood that her mother Doris
has passed away. A wonderful woman who regarded Chapter 55 members as “Her
boys”. Just 3 months shy of reaching the age of 100 but I’m sure she was
more interested in reuniting with Michael and other loved ones than making
it to that number. Our condolences to Cindi and Jim as it is hard to let go
of a loved one even though we know it’s going to happen. Keep both Cindi
and Jim in your prayers for peace and comfort as they endure their sadness.
There will be a graveside service for Doris. The family would like as many
members to attend the service as can make it. Uniform of the day will be
the Green Blazer with beret. Those without blazer are requested to wear
suit and tie. This service will be held at 1100 on Monday, 27 September at
Riverside Cemetery, 5855 Frankenmuth Rd, Vassar MI 48768. A reception will
follow at Vassar First United Methodist Church 139 N Main St, Vassar, MI
